Simon Pfisterer

Simon studied Uilleann Pipes at the University of Limerick and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Irish Traditional Music and Dance (first class honours). Simon has been part of CARA since July 2021. He also plays in “3 on the Bund” and in a duo with Irish singer and concertina player Susan Coleman, as well as the folk-fusion band “Luas”. His double solo album “Half Way There” and “Another Way to Go” (nominated for German Record Critics’ Prize) was released in 2022 and catapulted him to the top of the young generation of Irish musicians. Irish Music Magazine wrote: “sizzles with a wild youthful burst of energy,” and the NPU (Irish Society for Uilleann Pipes) officially added Simon to their online archive of live videos of important contemporary pipers in 2023!
